Me describiría a mi mismo como
I am a retired professional. I am well educated with a great sense of humor and an active mind. I enjoy conversation about politics, music, life, just about anything, and now that I am retired, I am experiencing loneliness without a team to see each day. My children are grown and launched and I live alone with all my dogs and cats (you should really like dogs and cats to be comfortable with me). I am writing a couple books, but looking for ways to have a small social life. I am rather shy (tho' you won't think so) and prefer one on one time. I hold a law degree and a doctorate in social psychology and am still interested in both of those areas, but am by no way limited to them. I enjoy a quiet evening or a concert, play or realistic movie or just talk in front of the fire with a glass of wine. I have been married to an alcoholic, but prefer not to become involved with an active alcoholic. I'm not a fan of science fiction. I am a unique person and if I can get someone to take my picture I will include it.
I have no plans for another marriage but miss the sharing involved. My 6 children are all grown and I am wondering what I should do next. I am comfortable with honest men who are comfortable with themselves. I am not interested in being involved with a married man as in "something on the side". I like being the main dish, even if it isn't a constant contact kind of thing. I am very honest, loyal, reliable and generous. My clients all trusted me, and I tend to trust people..perhaps too much.
I have spent most of my life raising children, going to school and earning a living. Retiring is another way of living which makes me wonder what I should be doing.
I think I would enjoy educated gentlemanly men, probably professional, who are interested in me as a person first. I like to hear about their theories of life and their wishes or dreams and their life experiences. Quiet evenings are usually very satisfying with someone like that, doing any of a variety of things. I am unique, but since that is other's perceptions of me, I can't predict if I will be to another person, and really don't know why people think that. I am spiritual but not religious.

Well, I am in the final third...I'd like to get my house painted and get things the way I want them inside (I have a 107 year old Victorian all to myself), get my last daughter married and confident as a lawyer (she graduates Sunday from law school) and as a mother, finish the two books I am working on and maybe publish one, have enough money to go to the caribbean again (st. lucia), finish the 4 quilts I have started,
I'm not sure how to set goals beyond that, except I expect to live to be 94 and hope I will think of other things to do in that time.
