I Would Describe Myself As

Re-entering the dating scene, to be honest, scares the B-Jesus out of me. Maybe I'll discover I'm not nearly as fascinating as I think I am, LOL. But, if I must present my attributes from MY point of view, here we go. I'm a travel writer who has published more than 100 articles, and I also produce trade and consumer shows. I'm happy at home, or happy out and about. Happy alone, and happy when the company is interesting, kind and intelligent. I enjoy comedy clubs, movies, festivals, antiquing, traveling, long walks in the woods, coffee over crossword puzzles, studying and researching just about anything, reading (mystery novels are my favorite), British mystery shows like Midsomer Murders and anything by Agatha Christie, as well as Southern writers, cats and dogs and birds, and children. My music preference is classic rock, but I also like some of the early 90s grunge, bluegrass to a certain degree and upbeat jazz tunes. I enjoy singing with others, but I'm no Streisand, LOL. What I am is funny, polite and gracious, a great cook, very outspoken but never rude, and you won't have to tell me most things twice. I'm a wonderful trivia games partner because I research so many things for work and pleasure.

If you want to plan a party, I'm your girl. A very gracious hostess other people find fun to be around. When I am feeling moody, I'll flat out tell you and then go to my room and read until it passes, or let you bring me out of it with an impromptu dinner out, whether that means Luby's, Taco Bell or Taste of Texas.

Ended a 14-year relationship a few months ago, and I am going to admit that I let myself go a bit, but I am still very cute and intend to work my way back to a normal size. In the meantime, enjoy a little padding when we dance. ;-)

About you. Please be a nice man, and not just to me. Be nice to others, especially children...and wait staff. Nothing turns me off more than a man who insults the working class out there. It would be very nice to share the love of words, in writing and through music. Oh, and I've really missed watching football and going to games, too. I'm a huge Crimson Tide fan because I'm from Alabama, but I'd like to get back to watching all football. (I crochet during the games, but still manage to scream out loud the whole time, LOL, and have been known to cuss like a sailor when I'm mad at the players or refs.)

I'm no rocket scientist, but I sure to like those guys; very interesting. I was raised by school teachers and college professors, so I have to have a smart partner. I can learn almost anything I put my mind to learning, but politics is the one subject that bores me to tears. Ack.

Here's how I describe my family: I have four children, four grandchildren and two ex-stepchildren who like me, and two ex-husbands who don't. Well, they don't dislike me, but there's a reason why we are "ex, " of course. I never speak ill of them, not to anyone, including our children. That's just rude. I always say to my kids that my memories of their father should not be their memories of their father, and I mean that.

So, that's pretty much me in a nutshell. If you would like to date someone who doesn't necessarily have marriage in mind, more just someone to share things and time with you, I'm ready for that, too.

A comedy club and dinner out. Movie night and then talking about the movie. Travel by car, singing along to the radio, stopping where I want to with no set schedule, and if an amusement park or a country/county fair or festival is on the itinerary, that's a GREAT time. Playing with my kids or grandchildren, taking them to eat somewhere their parents won't take them, and then giving them BACK to their parents, LOL, so I can go home and do whatever I feel like doing.
