I retired from teaching just a few years ago and find the pace a bit different. Guess I perceive myself to be pretty easy going, with a sense of humour (have to be when dealing with grade eights, right?). In the midst of teaching I also decided to raise alpacas on a small hobby farm and needed to develop a whole different skill set so I guess I'm also adaptable - am comfortable in heels or a barn jacket! But those chapters are now finished -farm is gone and I'm living in Ottawa in an apt. I grew up in Toronto so I can live in urban or rural settings I suppose. I have two grown children and two little grand-daughters (the girlies). Love them all but am not defined by them and need to pursue my own happiness. Try to keep fit by walking (no longer running)and snow-shoeing in the winter - nothing intense - but healthy and enjoyable activities. Have never done much travelling but there are a few places on 'my list'. Am trying golf and so far so good (sometimes it's a frustrating walk). Haven't played pool or down-hill skiied in ages but who knows. Things I like are new born alpacas, interesting landscapes, gardens and architecture, post and beam structures, still lake in the early morning,pick-up trucks, soft jazz (tenor sax), motown, good ol'rnr, some opera, good food and red wine (or cold beer in summer)
