I Would Describe Myself As

I consider myself just an average, normal female, seeking a caring companion with whom to spend time, have fun, and share the trivia of our lives. While I have friends around me there is no one with whom I seek out to reveal my private personal feelings or who looks for me to discuss their latest achievement or frustration. I consider myself a loving, thoughtful, sensitive person who recognizes I have much to give. Call it by whatever name ? friend, buddy, partner, mate ? it is the significant other with whom we can share special time together.

For a long time my life was wrapped up in my work. I teach college juniors and seniors at the University of Alabama. Over the last 16 years the dynamics of this job has changed considerably. I find I am no longer as passionate as I have been in the past. Of course, my personal life has changed as well. Having spent a lifetime it seems with a single partner, three years ago I suddenly found myself alone. Do not wish to sound needy but I have come to realize that I want to move beyond where I am. I have started taking ballroom dancing, which I love. A dance partner would be nice. I enjoy exploring the world ? local, state and beyond. I watch way too much television ? news, movies and a few series. My reading is mostly US News and World Report, food magazines, professional journals, and material for my courses. Not much of a shopper but love to explore specialty and antique shops. I am the campus adviser for a local Farmers Market therefore environmental issues are of great interest. I am originally from the MS Gulf Coast ? Bay St. Louis - and try to keep up on what is happening in their recovery from Hurricane Katrina. My sister and brother live in Ocean Springs, MS; and my roommate from college lives in Mobile and also has a home on Mobile Bay. What this means is that I try to get to this area as often as possible. I have two sons: one lives with his wife in Jackson, MS, and the other lives in Atlanta, GA but travels extensively with bands (Widespread Panic, Madonna, Spice Girls, to name drop a few) as a sound engineer/technician.
