I love hiking, dancing, mountains and music. I am artistic; an inveterate do-it-yourselfer and enjoy remodeling, repairing and fooling with my houses.

I have a home in Lexington and a home in NC. I spend a great deal of time in the Great Smoky mountains. I volunteer; as a guide and Elk ranger in the GSM Natl park, and for various Nature Conservancies. In Lexington I usher at local theatre and concert events. I am a non-smoker, enjoy a glass of wine now and the. I am honest, sometimes to a fault! VERY people oriented. Animal lover - have dogs, will always have dogs, would have horses if I could afford 'em! Love living in the mountains part-time. I'm told I am a good listener.

I have always been attracted to a "man's man". I do not cared for men who do not exert themselves physically, mentally and spiritually. I reach for growth in those areas on a constant basis. I am looking for someone who is an outdoorsman, a man with a library! Possibly a veterinarian or horseman. I like pistol target shooting and have shot skeet - I enjoyed that very much. I am passionate about dancing and am currently doing mountain dancing (clogging)for fun and excercise. I grew up dancing and have loved it all my life. I laugh a lot and need to be with folks who do that and can get tickled at themselves. I laugh at myself a lot. I enjoy folks with a well developed sense of the absurd. Love brit wit. Wry and dry.

I build scale models -1/12 scale. I like to garden, cook, do needlework and paint.
I am very discriminating. I am financially independent though I am always looking into various ventures as I never want to "retire".

I like to write, have written articles for various publications. Formerly employed in financial services marketing, and training. I am a poet and write poems for hire - devising toasts, roasts and even once a proposal for a young man.

I'm fit and youthful looking as well as in spirit and attitude and would want those qualities in any possible companion.

I read - read a lot. All kinds of periodicals (Smithsonian Magazine and the Wall Street Journal for example) Love History. Fiction. Theology. Some favorite and re-read authors are Wendell Berry, CS Lewis, Rita Mae Brown mysteries and yes, JK Rowling - have greatly enjoyed Harry Potter!

I have very high standards for a companion. I have been told by some men friends that I am in the top 1% of my age group. Only the qualified need apply! I look for a man with education - University degreed - OR self-educated equivilent.
