I have a dog. I never thought of myself as a dog person. I had always had cats. But we gave the cats to my mom when we found out my oldest son was allergic. And my younger son wanted a dog. So we got a dog - and I love having a dog! She has brought to much playfulness and affection to the house, and we all just eat it up.

I'm a hugger and a cuddler. I love the beach - it's a soul-restoring thing. I like movies, Celtic music, happy music, beach music, and music that feeds the spirit. I love the theatre and may one day get the nerve to get back on stage. (Yikes!) I love to laugh and I love to be around people who are laughing. I like intelligent people and challenging conversations. Love to read - lots of different kinds of books. I spend Sunday mornings sitting cross-legged on the floor telling the stories of our faith to kids, and it's always a high-point in my week.

I tend to err on the side of believing in and trusting people, and if that gets me stung, that's ok. I believe there are a lot more amazing, wonderful things in the world than there are dark holes to fall into.

The two boys to which I refer are a senior and a sophomore in high school - really marvelous kids - different as they can be.

I like puzzles, cards and board games, but I don't have a strategic bone in my body, so chess is out. (Sorry!)

And I love chocolate.
