My personal goal is to seek meaning in the randomness of experience. Writing is a way of imposing sense and form on happenstance. I also hope that I make life easier, happier, more meaningful for all those whose lives I touch, either directly or through my writing. My ego would add, get that third book out, receive the academic recognition you deserve and want.

Fun happens generally when electricity between people sparks spontaneous decisions, doing something zany and out of the ordinary, whether it's a night-time swim without clothes or dropping chores for a picnic at the beach. For me it's more about the energy between the two people really. If they're in a fun mood they can make any activity entertaining. I enjoy physical activities that distract the mind from life's chaotic demands. Yoga calms me and teaches me to be present in the moment. Bicycle riding gets me out of the house and closer to nature, a regenerative force in my life. If I were planning a fun weekend, I'd book a cabin in the mountains with trails abundant with streams, waterfalls, flora and fauna. And I'd take a loving partner with me. However, as a writer, I also like to have fun by myself, fooling with words, pinning a poem to a page, excited when it actually works.

I'm looking for a partner who would appreciate my brain as well as my body. He would be intelligent, cultured, witty, affectionate and view the loving relationship as the priority in his life. And I would do the same. I also enjoy a man who has preserved the boy inside himself, who can be playful, spontaneous or even silly. I want someone who will talk about problems, not stow them away until they become volcanic. And he must be loyal.
