Imperfect in wonderful ways if you like animals, laughter, hobby farm life, music, art, and interesting conversation.
I continue to live a lifelong dream of owning and living on smalll hobby farm (3+ acres), composting, organic gardening, studying the social behavior of an unique little miniature goat. Mostly getting hands dirty (my parents probably spinning in their graves).Inadventent launch off horse a few years ago somewhat reduced but didn't eliminate my hope that I will ride Arizona trails again. On the other hand, there is plenty of adventure available keeping things going around here: It has been 19 years of laughter and weeping and learning how goats really behave rather than the unflattering and wrong "common knowledge" about them, Reminds me sometimes of how hard it can be to be born "bright" but also loving the simple things rather than "rocket science." This gives you a brief overview of life "living green" for 19 years. . . after completing a Ph.D. When one pursues a dream, actually gets to live it, the only thing left is to find a person or persons to continue to share the intellectual side in interesting conversation, varied cultural interests.
That is harder when it sounds.
Quick wit, intelligence and sense of humor are mandatory in a man. You have to be able to laugh even in the most auwful times or you wouldn't have survived to be reading this description. I still hope to plant an organic kitchen garden in late January and have a new scheme to fend off the gophers, moles, and squirrels.
I'm addicted to my Smartphone. Even raise unique dogs to protect and herd the goats (mostly from humans and sometimes from wildlife). Those are my vices. Undesireable behaviors I don't want to be around are smoking, alcohol use/abuse and/or any other kind of medication abuse/drug abuse. There is just no effective way to write this other than to be honest and give a picture of my thought processes. BTW, Ph.D. is in behavior sciences. I also have two cats. What else? I am trying to find the time to finish a book in little dribs and drabs. AND I am getting ready to set up my fireplace for mellow Winter fires. Hate to pollute but, after all, I compensate by driving a Prius.
That's my lifestyle. Now it's time to change out a few more incandescents for fluorescents and also feed the goats and horses.
Putting a glow in my life includes interesting and varied conversation, laughter, enjoying learning new things, arts events, etc.

Having A coffee someplace mellow and fairly quiet so that conversation is possible. Talking, getting to know someone just a little and maybe, if there is a commonality, choosing someplace to go either the same day or later on. Nothing heart-stopping exciting. I would hope, if we "click" the excitement would follow.

I've already tried white water rafting; hiking the Grand Canyon; sea kayaking; multiple day trail riding. As I look at me, I have always believed that the time to do things you "always wanted to try" is the ambient NOW. And so, the ultimate for me was to try living "green" whether I had anyone to share it with or not. I've always wanted to try sharing it with someone who is still wacky enough to enjoy hammering a nail or milking a goat or going someplace wonderful like the Galapagos Islands. I still have my own white water raft. . . if the squirrels haven't munched on it in the shed. Haven't used it since I "always wanted to try" rafting the seasonal river which forms the western boundary of my property. . . in flood stage. It wasn't a very good idea but I survived.
Have safely and successfully rafted numeropus other rivers. . . but not recently.I'd like to try sharing adventures with someone who really likes trying new things and doesn't complain much.

After 19 years on Gentle Path Farm, I guess I can certainly say a rural lifestyle has appealed to me and continues to do so. But, you never know!

Intelligence. wit and humor, civility and considerate behavior broad interests, non-smoker, non-drinker without being boring. Still having an interest in life w/o reservation. Realistic confidence. It was unrealistic for me to buy my own horse at age 55. Now I own 4. Has been an adventure. Someone who would rather do something interesting in support of healthful living other than going to a gym. Intelligence and education is, a must. I have learned that I can't converse with a bookend. Can manage physical challenges which have come with life and aging. Must like animals. I'm not an Amazon. I just have very strong dreams and they have carried me through. Must be a contributor to good living; not just a passenger.
