I Would Describe Myself As

People tell me I'm fun to be with; I am curious, adventurous, and high-energy. I am never bored. I have always had a passion for life. I am romantic, affectionate, and (hopefully) growing in wisdom. Although I studied architecture as an undergraduate, law after receiving my bachelor's degree, and since retirement from flying, pre-medicine, I have been a pilot most of my life - first in the Navy and then for an airline.

I will leave it to the beholder to decide whether I am attractive or not, but I am strong in body, mind, and spirit. I'm always trying something new. I like to dance, and to travel. I am interested in everything - athletics, arts, writing, and music. I enjoy a good laugh but can recognize a serious moment as well. I try not to miss the times for playfulness in life, but I am mindful that I have been privileged to have been born to a good family in a good country, and that many have harder lives than I. I am sympathetic to their situation and concerned about their plight.

About eight years ago I lost a long-time companion to cancer. Much of what is written below is what I've known with her. I'm looking for someone I can have fun with to - begin to do things with occasionally, be friends with and perhaps take trips with, but with enough time, if things go well, I'll be looking to that woman as a long-term companion for my life - an exceptional woman who is bright, trim, vivacious, moral, productive and kind. I want a friend who I can laugh with 'til our sides ache and someone with whom I can - someday - share some "pillow talk", knowing that it will be understood and cared for as a precious trust.

I'm looking for a companion with the same exuberance about life that I have. Mutual "chemistry" has to exist for the two of us. Fitness is part of that. I work hard to stay in shape; I hope you do too. Our conversation should be easy and spontaneous. We should laugh at similar things and have similar values; we should "thrive" on each other's presence. "Sexy" to me is a woman who is decidedly feminine, softly independent and who has a touch of elegance in her manner. Eventually, I'll be looking for a companion, best friend and soulmate.

Although I am fiscally "conservative" in the sense that I believe in fairness in paying the country's bills and attempting to balance its yearly budget, I am just as strongly a social "liberal" who wishes to share with those less fortunate the benefits and opportunities of the many gifts I was given through birth and good circumstance. I would have little interest in someone who didn't have similar inclinations. John Kennedy expressed my view well in his inaugural speech, "If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich."
