Retired with plenty of living ahead: I am a home body who enjoys the spice of variety and the security of certain routines. Music and arts thrill me; books are sanctuaries for continued learning, and civic involvement is part of my life's blood. I can cook, garden, sew, and much more.

I am a fun-loving appreciator of nature. You will find me to be caring, giving, responsible, dependable, and loving. Independent is probably the one word that accurately describes me.

The last 16 years of my working life required traveling on a frequent basis. Now, short trips around our fantastic Northwest are sufficiently satisfying. I view flying as punishment rather than pleasure.

Life has been good to me: I am alive and vibrantly healthy to enjoy my retirement years. My income is modest but sufficiently adequate to provide financial independence. Prior to retirement, my time was not my own as it was dictated by the job requirements. During that time there was inadequate time for a close relationship. Now, in my retirement, my hopes are to establish a close and comfortable, long-term relationship with a man who shares some of my interests: walking/short hikes, occasional movies or music events, and coffee with lively conversation, especially if we are discussing a book we have both read.

I am seeking a partner who enjoys a zest for life and likes to laugh and will also make me laugh. My hopes are that this new friend will appreciate the simple things in life, the wonders of nature, and the beauty of the arts. His political views are shaped through influence of a liberal lens, but he also abides the diversity offered by other perspectives.
