I've lived a full life, with regrets and with perks
I have great kids abound, but no mate to converse

I'm saddled with a scooter that acts as my legs

My stubbornness however has afforded me the normalcy
Of being mentally and physically well equipped, resulting in complacency

To the point of still working, teaching adult education at the local college
Where students benefit from my decades of affordable housing knowledge

Long walks on the beach and dancing til dawn are activities I must balk
Substituted with conversing of the day's highs and lows, and, perhaps a little pillow talk

I have political and personal distain with the proposed dictator and his views
Because I chose pro life for me, but pro choice for you

I am encouraged by the anti maga sentiment, for those who dare would
For I proudly boost an liberal Agenda, one slightly left of Robin Hood

Fortunately, I've been blessed with the family gene of jocularity
Resulting in unforgettable good times, and a life of spontaneous hilarity

I am independent and a little complex, mostly in my daily deeds
The kid's happiness and that first time homeowner's gleam satisfy those simple needs

Traveling the land and closing the bars are way in my past
Day trips, family events, across the table dining and home and back are now tasks

My profile reads separated, understand it's a separation of no return
I roll gingerly with no expectations or agenda, but only to learn
