I'm a Vietnam veteran who got an advanced degree from the school of hard knocks. Serving as a Philadelphia public defender, I got into three fights with young prosecutors so I hung up my shingle and sought god's company in Buddhism, Sufism and the Kabbalah, while also checking out my roots through such Catholic clerics as St. Francis of Assisi, and Teresa of Avila and John of the Cross.I worked as a printe rand newspaper reporter as well as a union organize which I considered a "calling" from a higher power.I miss the intimacy one can find in private talks about the universe,our place in it, and how best we can all serve one another to make it a much better place for all.Talk to me, but please be gentle and compassionately. I hurt all too easily for a guy who had to toughen up to ge this far through life.
