Looking for Greek friendship

I Would Describe Myself As

As a “young” 69-year-old (retired English language teacher, now with a second career as a translator working from home), age hasn’t dampened my enthusiasm for life, or my interest in cultural pursuits (listening to music, finding out about history, visiting museums, learning about art, watching documentaries, reading, enjoying the countryside…). But I’d really like to share these things with a like-minded partner! I’ve been looking for one ever since I was young, but somehow life has raced past: in fact several different lives: Although born in the UK, in my early years I lived in various European countries (Switzerland, Austria, Belgium) and also spent some years in the USA as a student, and I’ve spent the last 40 years in Italy in Italy (where I am separated from my Italian husband). But I do have a UK life too! I appreciate the British lifestyle (where it’s so easy to get to know new people at any age); however, I love the Mediterranean lifestyle with its family-oriented traditions. For reasons connected with my work (Italian-English translation for Italian university professors, mainly classicists), I’ve become interested in Greek culture, and I’m trying to learn Modern Greek; I’ve visited Greece and found it more “sincere” than present-day Italy. I currently live in London and Italy and would really like to meet a friendly Greek who would share my interests and help me to combine my various different experiences and “lifestyles”. I’d be open to friendship and companionship, on a “let’s see what happens” basis.
